Graze Festival
Graze Festival was one of Hampshire’s leading music, food and arts festivals, based in Twyford, near Winchester. The festival ran successfully for four years before coming to an end in 2018 and no longer takes place, but it remains a much-valued part of the community’s recent history.
The festival brought together an exciting programme of live music, performing arts, pop-up restaurants, and a wide variety of entertainment for all ages. With a dedicated children’s area and a strong family focus, it provided a welcoming and enjoyable day out for residents and visitors alike.
Beyond the entertainment, Graze Festival played an important role in supporting local good causes. Across its first three festivals, it raised £18,000 for community organisations and charitable projects across Twyford, Colden Common, and the surrounding area.
Grants were awarded to a wide range of local organisations, including schools, churches, youth groups, charities, community centres, and volunteer-led projects such as:
- Twyford St Mary’s School
- Colden Common Scouts (9th Winchester)
- Ballard Close
- Twyford Playgroup
- Twyford Guides and Brownies
- Twyford Parish Hall
- Colden Common Pre-school
- Colden Common Shed
- Twyford Social Club
- St Mary’s Church, Twyford
- Twyford Waterworks Trust
- Compton All Saints Primary School
Graze Festival demonstrated how community events can successfully combine entertainment, fundraising, and local engagement, leaving a lasting positive impact well beyond the festival itself. Although the festival is no longer running, its contribution to the local community and the organisations it supported continues to be remembered and appreciated.
